A shared vision

Our strategy brings together students, researchers, administrative and technical staff, as well as members of the general public, businesses and local institutions, with the aim of increasing the region's visibility and appeal. Developed collaboratively across the university community, our strategy responds to today’s challenges while preparing for those to come, and builds on the university’s strengths to help shape its future.

The University of Strasbourg’s strategy was developed in late 2018 through an open and participatory process. It builds on the "Cap 2030: Imagining Our University" consultation (Cap 2030, imaginons notre université), which involved the entire university community, alongside dedicated working groups within the university’s decision-making and advisory bodies.

This strategy was formalised in a strategic framework document and adopted by the University Congress on 28 January 2020. It sets out the university’s vision and priorities through to 2030, which are implemented through major institutional projects. These projects are supported by funding both internally, through the Initiative of Excellence (Initiative d'excellence), and externally, through the France 2030 programme.
