Awarded by Campus France, the “Bienvenue en France” (Welcome to France) award recognises higher education institutions that are committed to improving the experience of international students. It is a mark of excellence that ensures international students receive the best possible welcome and support throughout their time at the university.

The University of Strasbourg has held the "Bienvenue en France" award since 2019, receiving the maximum rating of three stars.

An in-person welcome at the Maison universitaire internationale 

The Maison universitaire internationale (MUI) is a welcome centre for international students and researchers joining the University of Strasbourg. It brings together services designed to help you settle in and integrate smoothly. The MUI reflects the university and its partners’ commitment to providing a high-quality welcome.

Services on offer at the MUI

The MUI comprises the following:

  • Three departments of the International Relations Office (Direction des relations internationales – DRI), which assist with administrative procedures, support your mobility in Europe and beyond and provide resources, activities and guidance to help you make the most of your experience
  • A EURAXESS Support Centre, which supports international researchers and PhD students with their projects and helps them settle in Strasbourg
  • The European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) Eucor – The European Campus, which promotes and coordinates exchanges between five universities in Alsace, Germany and Switzerland

The MUI has over 100 accomodation spaces, allocated as a priority to international students and researchers.
