Manage stress and anxiety

If you are feeling stressed, anxious or simply need someone to talk to, nurses at the Student Health Office (Service de santé étudiante – SSE) are available by appointment. They can also guide you towards stress management workshops, such as relaxation techniques, hypnosis-based relaxation and breathing exercises.

Access free psychological and medical support at CAMUS

At the University of Strasbourg Medical and Psychological Support Centre (Centre d'accueil médico-psychologique universitaire de Strasbourg – CAMUS), you can meet with a psychologist, psychiatrist, dietitian or social worker. Consultations are confidential, free of charge and available by appointment. CAMUS has three locations: Esplanade, Petite France and Illkirch.

Student support networks

The student peer support programme (relais Rescue)

Each year, the university recruits students from a range of academic disciplines to inform, support and guide fellow students facing personal, psychological, medical, financial, academic or social difficulties. The relais Rescue students are supervised by a psychologist from CAMUS.

The student residence peer support programme (relais Cité)

The Strasbourg Centre régional des œuvres universitaires et scolaires (Crous) created the étudiants relais Cité programme to improve support and welcome services for students living in university residences.

Student support helpline

Need someone to talk to? The Coordination nationale d’accompagnement des étudiantes et des étudiants (Cnaé) platform provides free, confidential support for students experiencing psychological distress or mental health difficulties.

Psychologists and social workers are available remotely by phone or email to listen, guide and support you. The platform can also help you report discrimination, harassment or sexist and sexual violence.

The Santé Psy Étudiant scheme

All students enrolled in higher education in France can benefit from the Santé Psy Étudiant scheme, which offers up to 12 free counselling sessions each year with partner psychologists, with no upfront costs.
