The General Services Directorate coordinates the work of the university's central administrative services and collaborates closely with its faculties, schools, institutes and laboratories. It implements the university’s strategy and ensures that decisions made by the Senior Leadership Team and the governing bodies are followed through.
Overview
The General Services Directorate is at the centre of the university’s management. It implements the strategy defined by the President and supported by the Vice-Presidents. The General Services Directorate is led by the Director General of Services, assisted by four Deputy Director Generals. Each of these deputies oversees a specific area:
- All resources, including finance, logistics and digital services
- Human resources, quality of life and working conditions and social responsibility
- Education, student life, library and documentation services, and internationalisation
- Research, innovation and the university’s engagement with society
Director General of Services
The Director General of Services, Valérie Gibert, is part of the university's management team. She reports directly to the President and is her principal collaborator and advisor.
Under the Education Code, the Director General of Services is responsible for implementing the university’s policy decisions. She coordinates the central administrative services and works closely with faculties, schools, institutes and laboratories. She ensures high-quality services for internal and external stakeholders, supports the implementation of the strategy defined by the President and Vice-Presidents, and oversees the implementation of decisions made by the university’s governing bodies.
The Director General of Services is responsible for all central administrative services and for the university’s non-academic staff, both permanent and non-permanent, including librarians, engineers, administrative staff, technicians and social and health professionals. She is supported by four Deputy Directors and oversees the development of the university’s procedures and organisational structure as part of a continuous improvement approach.
The Director General of Services also has direct authority over the following Offices:

Deputy Director General of Services for Resources
The Deputy Director General of Services for Resources, Anne-Catherine Norberti, reports directly to the Director General of Services. She coordinates all services that make up the University of Strasbourg's Resource Management Division:

The Deputy Director General of Services for Education, Student Life, Libraries and International Affairs, Bernard Lickel, reports directly to the Director General of Services.
