Our campuses
The University of Strasbourg has ten campuses across six cities:
- The Neustadt campus, the Esplanade campus, the Civil Hospital - Finkwiller campus and the Meinau campus in Strasbourg
- The Cronenbourg CNRS campus between Strasbourg and Schiltigheim
- The Schiltigheim campus
- The Illkirch campus in Illkirch-Graffenstaden
- The Colmar campus
- The Haguenau campus
- The Sélestat campus
More than 100 buildings house the university's various faculties, services, schools and institutes. Three of these buildings are listed as historic monuments: the Palais universitaire, the Faculty of Law, Political Science and Management and the Pavillon de Rome, which is attached to the Institute of Haematology at the Civil Hospital.
A strategic location
As a hub for European cooperation, Strasbourg is home to the European Parliament, the European Court of Human Rights and the Council of Europe. This proximity to European institutions makes the University of Strasbourg a centre of expertise on European affairs, particularly in the fields of law, history and political science.

The University of Strasbourg is one of the largest multilingual and multicultural universities in France. Over 20% of our students are international, representing 156 different nationalities, and our staff represent over 80 nationalities. Across our campuses, you can hear English, German, Polish, Japanese, Mandarin and many other languages. The Faculty of Languages offers courses in a total of 28 languages.

A space for getting involved
Green and open campuses
The University of Strasbourg has carried out major construction, redevelopment and renovation projects to transform ageing, energy-intensive campuses into greener, more welcoming spaces to study and work. These changes form part of large-scale initiatives such as Opération Campus and the national energy renovation plan for public buildings.

Culture and history
Over the centuries, the University of Strasbourg has built up scientific collections that are recognised across Europe and around the world. This heritage supports both research and knowledge sharing. Several of these collections and sites are open to visitors, including the Mineralogy Museum, the Seismology Museum, the Zoological Museum, the Palaeontology Collection, the Botanical Garden and the historic campus.
