Franco-German cooperation at the University of Strasbourg
With its history and geopolitical location, Strasbourg is closely linked to Germany. The University of Strasbourg has nearly 300 Erasmus+ partnerships in Germany and Austria and provides opportunities for students, PhD students and staff to participate in mobility programmes in German-speaking countries. The university is also home to a vibrant German-speaking community. In addition to partnerships with German institutions, the university develops collaborative initiatives through networks such as Eucor – The European Campus, Knowledge Transfer Upper Rhine (KTUR2) and the interdisciplinary research hub GermanoPôle.
A key partnership in education and research
The university offers more than 60 Franco-German study programmes, leading to double or triple degrees at bachelor's and master's level, as well as engineering degrees. A large majority of these programmes are accredited by the Franco-German University (FGU) and many others also focus on the German-speaking world. The university also has several doctoral colleges accredited by the FGU.

Made up of German and French academics, it is the first cross-border Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence.

Franco-German ties in everyday life
Franco-German connections are part of everyday life within our university community. Students and staff can improve their language skills at a language café, attend courses online or in person at German-speaking universities, take part in cross-border projects and enjoy many other opportunities to connect and collaborate.
The academic year is marked by meet-ups and events such as the Grand Est Franco-German University Award ceremony, the Franco-German Week and exchanges between staff from the University of Strasbourg and German-speaking universities.
