Overview
The IT and Digital Services Office (Direction du numérique – DNUM) is a central service of the University of Strasbourg, supporting the definition and delivery of the university’s information systems and digital development strategy.
Responsibilities
With nearly 140 members of staff, the IT and Digital Services Office is organised into eight departments, which are responsible for the following:
- Designing, implementing and maintaining the university's entire information system. This includes the university’s IT and audiovisual infrastructure, as well as its websites, computer and multimedia equipment, and those of some of its partner institutions
- Supporting user needs by bridging functional needs and technical implementation. It provides advice and expertise to users and the university’s faculties, schools, institutes and servcies
- Providing user support, both remotely through the Digital Support Service (telephone support five days a week, all year round) and locally through a network of on-site IT staff in university faculties, institutes, services and laboratories, coordinated through the Infoprox project
- Organising training for users in the digital tools and applications used across the university, in close collaboration with the Institute for Educational Development and Innovation (Institut de développement et d’innovation pédagogiques – IDIP) and the Skills Management and Development Department of the Human Resources Office
Partnerships
The IT and Digital Services Office has long-standing collaborations with public institutions across Alsace and is expanding its collaboration to include Eucor – The European Campus partners and other partners in the Grand Est region of France. Its roles include:
- Managing the Grand Est ADAGE-certified data centre, in collaboration with the University of Lorraine
- Operating the University of Strasbourg mesocentre, in coordination with institutions across the Grand Est region as part of the Grand Est Numérique Intensif (GENI) project, and with national mesocentres through the PIA3 Mesonet project
- Running the Osiris metropolitan network on behalf of numerous partner institutions
- Operating the Alsace network for research and higher education (Rarest)
- Providing numerous shared digital services in partnership with other institutions, such as:
